About

What it’s like to use each machine

Presso Smartshot

Fast, simple workflow with minimal setup. Best suited to people who want great espresso without turning it into a full routine. If you prefer a hotter coffee it's best to pop the portafilter into your cup and add hot water to warm up both before making the shot.

Cafelat Robot

More hands-on and mechanical in feel. A strong choice if you enjoy being closely involved in the shot-making process. If you prefer a hotter coffee it's best to pop the portafilter into your cup and add hot water to warm up both before making the shot.

Flair

More modular and portable, but with more assembly and preheating. Better suited to people who value pack-away flexibility. The Flair has a group head instead of a portafilter - for a hotter coffee you can pre-warm this but slighty more involved.

About

Which type of user is each best for?

Presso Smartshot

Best for everyday home use, especially if you want something compact, quick to set up, and easy to keep on the counter.

Cafelat Robot

Best for users who enjoy a more tactile, hands-on espresso workflow and do not mind a slightly more involved process.

Flair

Best for users who care most about portability or a modular setup and are comfortable with a bit more prep.

Designed for real kitchens

The biggest difference between manual espresso makers is not whether they can produce good coffee. All three can. It is whether they feel easy enough to use regularly.

Presso Smartshot is designed around that everyday reality: compact enough to suit most kitchens, simple enough to use often, and capable enough to make the effort worthwhile.

Which should you choose?

Each of these machines has its strengths. Cafelat Robot suits a more mechanical, hands-on approach. Flair is better suited to portability and a modular setup. But for most people making espresso at home, the deciding factor is how easy the machine is to use regularly. Presso Smartshot is designed for that everyday use.
