To the developers of the Presso Espresso and the entire ROK UK/EU team,
I am writing this review as a long-time user of the first-generation Presso Espresso. After 21 years of faithful service, my beloved machine sadly became leaky due to cracks in the plastic and was retired to the basement for eight years out of safety concerns. However, I always valued the sustainable design and the idea of manual espresso.
Rebirth Thanks to the Conversion Kit
The new Conversion Kit has not only revived my machine but has truly revolutionized it. The technical refinement is impressive and has far exceeded my expectations:
• Temperature: I am surprised at how hot the espresso now comes out—the temperature is perfect, almost dangerously hot!
• Crema: The resulting crema is incredibly dense and full-bodied. This upgrade represents the perfect diffusion of sustainability and technical progress.
I am extremely happy and can warmly recommend the kit to every owner of the first generation.
⚠️ Important Note and Suggestion for Improvement
Despite the outstanding quality of the upgrade, the portafilter handle unfortunately broke at a predetermined breaking point. I cannot find any information on how the handle can be replaced.
• Is the handle glued, and if so, how can it be safely removed?
• Which thread (e.g., M10, M12) is used to mount a replacement handle?
I would love to personalize the product with a wooden handle to perfect the machine's sustainability concept. I urgently ask you to offer replacement handles and ideally provide an instructional video on changing the portafilter handle, as you do for other products. This detail must not detract from the otherwise excellent product quality and experience.
Final Questions Regarding Longevity
1. Durability: If I purchase another kit as a spare – can I assume that the seals and silicone parts, etc., will last for my lifetime? I hope I never have to use another espresso machine again.
2. Name Suggestion: Since my first-generation Presso Espresso has now been upgraded to the ROK GC standard: What should I call this 21-year fusion of old and new? 😉
Thank you for this fantastic product!
