I really wish it was a bit less fragile

It’s an amazing filter – makes great coffee. But the cone is very fragile, and I keep breaking it.
Whenever I go camping or travel, I always come back with a crack.
I really wish it was a bit stronger.

On the other hand, there is a ten-year warranty and ROK send a replacement not question asked.

The Filter So Nice I Bought It Twice

This is the second W1 Filter that I've purchased and it's honestly great. It consistently provides flavorful and nuanced cups of coffee without the need to have everything dialed down to the last degree or needing a gooseneck kettle (convenient while traveling). You can get as specific as you want with it or just splash that water right into it. Big recommend.

Bamboo composite material

Disappointed to notice upon arrival what seems to be bamboo composite material which is currently being investigated for potential impact to human health: https://food.blog.gov.uk/2024/07/30/what-are-bamboo-plastic-composites-and-why-they-shouldnt-be-used-for-food-or-drink/

Hi Panda Scientist, You are quite right to question the safety of bamboo composites. We did also. Bamboo composites generally use Melamine as a binding agent. Melamine has been used for a generation for children’s plates and cups as it’s very durable. The latest findings indicated that some Melamine resins may leach Formaldehyde at higher temperatures. We heavily tested our bamboo and found a variant we are confident with. See more in W1 FAQs here - https://us.rok.coffee/pages/help

Fine for pour over

Since I purchased the espresso machine, I figured I'd try the pour over too. It is a fine device. It didn't supercede the taste of my Kalita and it takes more time getting the filter in, so I will probably just give it away. If you don't already have a pour over, this is a fine unit.
